Liana and Liam are learning about Augustus Caesar and the Rise and fall of Rome for History. Pretty full on stuff! Our curriculum is literature heavy so lots or reading aloud for me. Last week we read all about Antony and Octavian conquering the world and about the December festival "Saturnalia". In honour of the god Saturn they dressed in red pointed hats, trimmed their houses with evergreen and holly branches, exchanged gifts and had a huge feast...sounds rather familiar.
We also talked about Roman houses and made some mosaics pictures.
